Chapter 1: Lovin' your life

 

"You're so pretty!" a nerdy yet handsome boy with big round glasses gazed at you in awe as you walked past him, another admirer. The 37th in one week.

"Thank you!" you gave him a friendly smile, but he took it as a sign that you were flirting with him.

"C-can I have your number?" he stared at you, hypnotized by your appearance. You weren't ranked number 1 at school for being the prettiest girl for no reason.

"I..."

You couldn't end your sentence as someone pulled you closer.

"Sorry man but this girl is mine, you can get another one but I guarantee you she isn't so pretty as my girl." your boyfriend gazed at you affectionately.

The boy looked rather scared and ran away with full speed. You rolled your eyes "Min Ho you didn't had to scare him." but you couldn't help it and let out a giggle.
"So you rather have a guy that keeps drooling at you 24/7 than a gentle and handsome boyfriend like me?" he winked at you and gave a peck on your cheek.

"Haha mayybe..." you smiled but gave him a hug to reassure him.

"Yeon Jae-ah you're the prettiest and most lovely girl I've ever met, I love you." he tightened his grip around you and let his chin rest on your shoulder.

"Mmm...."

You guys were already two years together but you still enjoyed every hug, it made your heart flutter and butterflies were flying like crazy in your stomach. Is this what being in love is? then you loved being in love.

He slowly pulled you apart. "Yeon Jae-ah, let's go on a date after school!" he smiled at you with so much passion and love, you couldn't refuse him and nodded. Then you remembered the Queen and King prom tomorrow.

"Oh! but we can't, we've a prom tomorrow and you know it takes days for me to prepare for parties." you pouted in disappointment, actually you also wanted to impress EXO M who's gonna perform during the prom, but you didn't want to say it out loud because he'll get jealous.

He laughed "Honey do you think the day after tomorrow is the end of the world? we always can go on dates after the prom."

"Oh yeah..." you nodded and smiled. He looked at his watch "Aww time sure does fly with you, I've to go to my class, I'll see you at lunch." he quickly gave you a kiss on your cheeks, making your cheeks red and your heart beat faster. You watched him walking away 'I hope we'll be together forever' you smiled at the thought and walked towards your class.

At lunch you sat down by your usual table with your best friends, you've a lot of friends, but they are your best friends.
"Yeon Jae-ah what are you going to wear for the Q&K Prom?" (Queen & King prom) your friend Suzy asked with interest, she's the most fashionable girl you've ever met. She knew about the latest fashion before it even becomes a fashion item and she hates people that dressed improperly or old-fashioned.

"Hmmm... maybe something different this year, like a sweater my grandma knitted for me and the pants from my grandpa." you said sarcastic because she probably already knows what you're going to wear. She looked skeptical at first but then her eyes widened and she stopped eating "What?! Really?" she held a hand over her mouth. Also one of the traits that's funny about her, she always takes everything seriously.

You and Bora chuckled "Of course not silly! Yeon Jae unni is going to wear a breathtaking dress, eventhough she'll even be pretty in a garbage bag.." Bora mumbled the last part and slapped Suzy's arm, in a friendly way. Bora knew you since elementary school and always noticed when you're being sarcastic in contrast to Suzy, she just knew you for a year.
"Oh..." Suzy made a face "Aishh! you guys are always messing with me!" she poked in her food, acting like she's angry.

"Hehe sorry can't help it, but hey Bora stop calling me unni, it makes me feel old." you made a face too and began to eat your meal, fresh green beans with potatoes and some weird looking brown sauce, it taste like shit, no I've literally never ate shit before. Well it's finally something different, since everyone had to eat rice, soup and kimchi the whole week.

"I'm sorry unn- I mean Yeon Jae-ah." Bora pouted at you, the cute pout that made everyone forgive her, you rolled your eyes.

"What're going to wear? I want to know!" Suzy asked curiously.

"I..." You couldn't end your sentence, *seriously everyone's cutting my sentences off today*, as someone interrupted you.

"Look who we've here." someone stood behind your back. By the sound of her voice you already knew who it was, Hana, the biggest Bitch of the school. You let out a deep breath as you closed your eyes. "Hana." you wanted to end this conversation (or maybe more a Bitchfight) before it begins.

When you turned to face her you almost could see the electric lightning between you and her eyes, you hated each other so much. She crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes "Just to let you know that you're not going to win any prizes tomorrow." she sneered and then laughed evil.

"Says the person who didn't win any prizes in her life." you shot back, gotcha.

She looked angry, very angry as her ulzzang face reddened "Stupid Bitch! just wait, I'm gonna steal everything away from you!" she stomped away with her two slave dolls following behind her, Hee Jung and Hee Young, both twins. Good luck, because you'll fail eventually. You squinted one eye as you saw her stomping away and yelling to each guy that gave her a flirtatious look and some even tried to look under her skirt. "STOP STARING AT ME! DAMMIT, PERVERTED JERKS!" she yelled. You sighed and shook your head. When she's in a good mood she'll swoon all the guys over, and when she's angry she just scold them, and she's considered the prettiest one after you, she has a really ugly attitude though.

After you, your best friends and boyfriend were done with school your friends went shopping together for the Q&K prom, you didn't go with them as you've three walk-in closet with dresses, casual clothes, jewels, bags and just everything what a girl wants. You already asked if they want to borrow something from you but they refused the offer, they didn't want to bother you.

Min Ho insisted to walk home with you because he was afraid that someone may snatch you away from him, he's so overprotective sometimes. You guys walked through the park, your usual way to walk home. It was a sunny day and the sun was shining right in your face, you took your Gucci sunglasses out of your bag and put them on.

"Honey~" he whispered in your ear while pulling you closer to him. "What?" you raised a brow as you turned to him. "We're definitely going to win the prize for 'best couple' again this year right?" he kissed your forehead, it was difficult while walking and he ended up kissing the tip of your nose. You smiled and nodded "Of course we are going to win, fighting." you clenched your fist, you're not a conceited person but you just knew you guys are going to win again. Actually you're not even close to arrogant, most of those rich teens you see on TV are acting all almighty, like they're everything but you're just normal.

When you walked into the kitchen the scent of sweet and delicious cakes and cookies filled your nose. "YUMMY! Cookies!" you cheered and clapped your hands in joy, you LOVED cookies. You quickly took a handful of the delicious chocolate chip cookies and stuffed them in your mouth all at once.

"Calm down sweetie or you'll choke." your mother said while decorating the weddingcake for your aunt and uncle. Your mother was a pro in making cookies, cupcakes, weddingcakes and everything that was sweet and delicious. She was busy decorating the cake with white and pink roses and for the finishing touch the bride and groom made with marzipan. You watched her in awe, your mother was good in everything...except from sports, she...kinda really sucks in it, but you were too, you couldn't even find the difference between a baseball and a soccer ball, balls are balls, they all look the same to you.

Your dad came into the kitchen and smiled upon seeing his daughter and wife "What are my lovely ladies doing?" he hummed. Your mother smiled at him with kind eyes but you just rolled your eyes, you didn't really like the fact that he never calls you by your real name but always had those nicknames for you like; sweetie, lovely, cutiepie, Hello Kitty. what the heck dad? I'm not five anymore...but if it made him happy, you were okay with it.

"Oh just doing the usual." you said and stuffed another cookie in your mouth.

"Aigoo~ my cute cookie monster!" he pinched your cheek.

"Dad!" you mumbled and waved his hand away while chewing on your 9th cookie.

He grinned "So are you excited for your prom tomorrow?" he grabbed a business newspaper from the rack and began reading it with a cookie.

"Yes!' you said with much enthousiasm.

"So I guess I've to build another cupboard for your trophies then?"

You rolled your eyes "Dad, you don't have to exaggerate, I'm not having so much trophies, do I?"

"Oh no of course not, that's why the whole house is under the trophies." he said sarcastic.

You scanned the house, he was right. In every corner you looked you saw trophies with your name; "Congratulations Seon Yeon Jae with the best couple of the year trophy." it says on a trophy with a girl and a boy holding hands and kissing each other. Another one; "Congratulations for being the best-prettiest-cutest-sweetest-awesome~" bla bla bla and the list went on and on... you didn't even remember that one.

"Okay dad I give up, please build the cupboard." you held your hands up, showing you were defeated. He laughed in amusement. "We're going to give you a ride tomorrow, we've to pick up some things by our best friend, he lives in the countryside, but you don't mind right?" your dad looked up from his newspaper. "I'm fine with it." you nodded.

You smiled and looked at your mom and dad, you thought about your best friends and your boyfriend. You're so lucky, you've a mom that is excellent in making cakes, cookies and more and runs her own company, also your dad, who's an admirable architect and designer, who's also running his own company, he wanted to name his company "Seon Yeon Jae" but you were embarassed so he had to chose another name. And of course your BFF Bora and Suzy, they're amazing and cares about you so much and then there's your boyfriend, it was love at first sight, ever since then you guys are together, you love him and vice versa.

You're loving your peaceful life, but how long will things last? every good thing had to end at some point, unfortunately.
